Be grateful, be righteous, be honest, be good. Be a dreamer if you like, be a rock star too, be real, be you, be everything you want to be. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
I am catching up here in the studio, so much to be thankful for. I am excited about the new studio and the big plans for the next season of shooting. I am so very lucky.
This is one of my favorite shoots from this fall. It's been waiting for a blog for sooo long! (I am finally able to breathe a bit here and I hope to get to all the blogs soon.) Meet one year old Stelly and her bro. Aaaaaah, I love them.
Like many of you, some of my days are spent on the computer. I edit photos, retouch files, email clients and sometimes peek in on this phenomenon called facebook. Every day, I read the screen like it's the morning newspaper. Only this newspaper is awesome because the stories are mostly good, and I happen to (at least a little) know the people behind the stories. Okay so maybe the story is what you put in your kids lunchbox today or how many cats woke you up this morning by batting you in the head. But that's pretty okay in my book. Sure beats to hear about the robbery of a convenient store or a shooting in Philadelphia or even how awful our country is doing these days. I love hearing about your dog's bone and your kids good grades, and maybe it was your anniversary and you are so proud of your relationship, you share the day with all of us. I think that's the neatest concept ever. Maybe you will disagree, maybe you don't like seeing happy people, or weird status updates. I happen to enjoy all of it, even those whiners because you know what? All of these people are now ingrained in my subconscious mind. Even when I'm not on facebook, I know Lisa's cats are licking her ankles and ChristyLee has a martini in her hand. I know Joe is writing a story, I know Barbara is looking for love and Michelle is in love and Lorie is having a baby. (How cool is that?) I once read a book about the five people you meet in heaven. (Mitch Albom) I always think about that number, five. Five people. I truly believe that when I am on my way to heaven, I will also meet my 498 facebook friends somewhere along my journey. They have entered my life in ways that I may not think about today, but by the end of my days, I know these people will have a place in my heart somehow, even if we live across the world, they are here in my world, on my screen every day.
Now don't get me wrong, REAL life meetings with REAL people are more important to us as human beings. That's why I do this job. It's one really cool way to be a part of someone's light for a few hours. Meet my friend Joe. He is a writer, which sparked my extra long blog today. He wanted some cool promotional shots and head-shots for the projects he is working on. He left the creative process up to me. I knew his writings were not about unicorns and rainbows. I had a small plan for our day but the rest I just let happen as I saw it. Really awesome.
Are you ready for an amazing photographic story? This project means a lot to me, not only because I happen to know this gorgeous momma and her three incredible kids, but also because her daughter and my daughter are the same age. (What an age!!) Both my friend and I refer to our children as our “babies”. Call us sappy if you want but there's nothing on earth like a mother's love. Our babies are really growing up, but here in my photographs, they will stay just like this. She wanted these moments to stop in time and now she has them forever. I am so jealous. ;)
Here's an adorable little man and his family to brighten this rainy morning. This little guy has the cutest faces! Gah!! Isn't he just awesome! Oh I'm going to miss that fall light and longer days. I am working here already on holiday photos, seems too soon I know but I want to have them all ready for making cards and gifts for this season's holidays!
This awesome collection gets delivered tonight! I thought I'd share a few shots and tell you about the day at the winery. After getting “the boot” from properties around local towns, we ended up pulling into Sharrott Winery in Winslow NJ. Well, what a great group of people we met! They let us walk the vineyard and shoot for as long as we needed to. The light was so pretty and we had a great time. Never before after a shoot have I gotten to attend wine tasting with clients so this was a first! I went home with two bottles of wine and amazing shots! Sometimes my job is so cool. :)
What is more cool than an apple farm in the fall? This place was so neat, although we had to leave early because the farm needed to close, I was so excited to find a few great spots for these shots of my niece and nephew! So many favorite shots in this collection! I can't wait to go back and shoot there some more. Have a great day, everybody!

I can spot a well dressed child from a mile away! I love when kids are all dressed up! Such an exiting sight to see colors, patterns, ruffles, lace, hats, bangles and big bright eyes! That's what I love to photograph! Every session freezes a moment in time. Let's tell a brilliant story together!
From boudoir sessions to cooperate head shots or personal portraits, we will work together to create a final project that fulfills all your needs. Family sessions are not only fun but you will always treasure the moments we capture together. Whether it be Grandma's front porch, or the farm, or an old country road, we will choose together the place to meet and the theme for our photograph. Dream away, this is your story!
High school seniors are my favorite people!! They have so much character! They might be shy sometimes but I promise these are the photos they will be proud to show their families and friends for many years to come. I recommend gals get their hair and makeup done. All seniors may bring several clothing changes and their sports equipment or musical instrument for a few shots. We choose unique locations and "go play" for a little while. It's fun, it's exciting and their friends can stop by for a photo with them!
I have weddings in my veins! I work as an editor and assistant for a world renowned photographer during the year. I've been surrounded by his work for 14 years and treasure every moment. I'm always learning, always in awe of love. My favorite words at every wedding are, "I love LOVE!" I have assisted many weddings under his wing and I book several weddings of my own each year.
